Internship Program

NIA Centre offers substantial experience in finance, nonprofit management, marketing, graphic design, grant management, event planning and more for high school and college-aged young adults as we continue to grow our capacity. Check your institution’s Handshake account for more information, or email a resume and statement of interest directly to our Executive Director. Some positions are paid and have remote work options. We invite you to share your academic and professional goals with us so we can find an arrangement that helps you as much as it helps us!

youth board

To solidify our commitment to Grand Rapids youth, NIA Centre offers the ability for young adults ages 16+ to serve on a Youth Board of Directors. Youth Board Members must commit to a one-hour-long meeting each month and a minimum of two volunteer hours per month as needed. Members are given a free NIA Centre membership and act as ambassadors of African American culture within the city as they help inform the direction of the organization at Board meetings and through volunteer projects in nonprofit management, financial management, project planning, program management and more. Young professionals with an interest in the nonprofit sector are encouraged to apply below.
